Now before I begin I just want to say is that this journal is primarily focusing on the Anime not Manga(the drawing style).Alright now that I cleared things up let me begin.
I remember since I was a little kid that anime has always been around at my age(if course I didn't know what Anime was back then) this usually revolved around pokemon since I normally watched Cartoonnetwork. As I grew older shows like Dragonball Z, Big O, Inuyasha, etc started to enter my life as well. I used to love these shows mainly because when I was little these were big kids shows. Shows that little kids at my age aren't supposed to watch. Also I thought all the killings, and explosions and stuff were kinda cool. Even though I didn't really understand the point of it all. In this course of my life I've come to find out that these shows are called Anime. This also affected how I used to draw. From around 2nd to 8th grade a lot of people who looked at my drawing would say "oh you can draw anime!" That made me happy because back then I was pretty much an otaku(minus the hordes of anime toys and manga)me and my friends would always roleplay characters from the shows that we watched together. As I hit middle school I began looking for anime shows that aren't really heard of, and most likely I was obsessed with them. In middle school I admired many artists that drew in that style saying to myself that one day I was going to be able to draw anime like that. Around the summer time about to be a freshman in highschool I joined DeviantArt referred to me by a friend of mine during my 8th grade school year. I believed that this was one of the greatest art sites I had ever seen. I've seen so many good artists that post their work here it inspired me to try harder.
This is where my current opinion on anime begins.
Back when I was a kid I used to think anime was the coolest shit in the world. Because of DeviantArt I have been exposed to many diffrent styles of art. Many which I thought peaked my interest more than anime. Over the course of one year of joining this site my opinion from anime has changed drastically. I now think of anime as something that was great, but has now become cliche, monotonous, predictable, and for the most part boring. I have lost interest in Anime because it has become the same thing over and over and over again. Most of the things I see in most anime is this:

1) Anime that involves guy/girl being surrounded by beautiful/handsome men/women and hot, sexy, pervy stuff happens to said person every 5 minutes whether it be guy falls on some girl's boobs or girl runs into guy naked in the shower or some other kind of arousing things like tentacle rape. These anime usually have zero plot to them

2)KAWAII NEKO DESU NE!!!! Everybody and everything is cute, has big eyes, and dammit everything has to sparkle and look so KAWAIIIII!!! Jeez after a while this starts to get pretty annoying. Just like number 1 this kind of anime mostly have no plot to them whatsoever(usually these shows are just episodes where said plot is completed in 30 of 15 minutes).

3) omg someones trying to take over the world and it's up to a secret military group/random people with no fighting skills whatsoever to stop the evil organization/group/person/alien/whatever. From taking over the planet or whatever the hell it is they are saving. Usually these involve lots of magical weapons, or giant robots. Most of these start out good at first, but then they end up getting to episode 456 and they still aren't close to reaching the solution to the conflict of the fucking story making this series for the most part annoying.

4)LET'S GO ON AN ADVENTURE!!111!! this usally involves fucktarded kids whom instead of staying in school and getting an education they decide to go on a wild, and wacky adventure in another dimension and somehow somewhere this story ends up becoming like number 3 while on their pointless journey of retardom the world their chilling in is about to be taken over by whatever the hell it is is taking over the place. Sometimes these adventure shows can also end up like number 2 and 1 which in my opinion is very annoying because this will end up causing those dreaded "filler" episodes and will most likely prolong the series to nothing more but random episodes seeming like they are actually getting somewhere.

Looks familiar? Yeah I kinda got the wake up call around the middle of this summer. What I'm trying to point out is that if you watch anime and kinda observe it for a moment you'll realize to yourself "hey most of these anime revolve around the same kind of plot". To me it's waaaay to often that I see this. Of course there are few anime in my opinion that I enjoy and find that even though they revolve around these plots(and many others that I did not bother to mention) have been an exception in my opinion:

Death Note, Wolf's rain, Full Metal Alchemist, Hellsing, Code Geass, Bobobo-bobo-bobo, Soul Eater, Keroro gunso(Sgt.Frog in English), Ouran High school Host Club, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Fruits basket. There were probably many other but eh I forgot.

The following anime in my opinion that fall into this unoriginal category are as follows:
Love Hina, Naruto, Pokemon(the show not the games), digimon, Inuyasha, Girl's Bravo, Hamtaro(of course you gotta admit the hamsters are adorable), Yu-Gi-Oh, Bakugan(ugh dont even get me started...),Dragon Ball Z, Gundam(depends on which ones), Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach, Dino King, One piece, (started good until 4kids and too many episodes fucked it up), and Negima(pedophilia anyone?)

As I contemplated this anime has started to get more and more uninteresting to me Especially the manga books(not that I was really into them in the first place). I began to rethink things, my drawing style has drastically changed after. I began to watch deviants with different art styles like cartoonisim, realism, and the likes. Of course I still add manga artists to my watchlist it's not as frequent as it was before. Now really Anime doesn't really enter my mind unless someone mentions it.
Huh Anime has a lot of potential. It's just that the really good ones that actually have a point to them are kept hidden away in Japan where you can only discover them if you look hard enough. By far the only anime that has really touched me was Wolf's rain. Good anime, constant suspense you should really watch it. Trust me you'll like it.

Again this is my current opinion on Anime. You can agree with me, stay neutral about it, or flame me all you want. This is what from my point of view I currently see it, and I'm fully aware that not everyone is going to agree with me. I don't care I just wanted to express my opinion on the matter.
